Restoration Party Scores First Success

Okay, so we can't take all the credit. But in November, 2009, the Restoration forces all over Idaho presented a "safe" resolution to the local central committees called "Health Freedom Act." The resolution was passed by the the Idaho Republican State Central Committee and apparently adopted by Jim Clark (R), Hayden Lake and Lynn Luker (R), Boise and drafted into House Bill H0391, carrying the same name: Health Freedom Act.

It passed the House with little trouble, but interesting note that when it was sent to the Senate, our own "Republican" Charles Coiner voted against this measure that was passed by his own Republican Central Committee in Twin Falls! With the current leadership, you won't hear the Twin Falls Republicans criticizing him over this, so don't hold your breath.

A few important notes to make here about this story that you won't find in the Times News, even though a press release was submitted to them about this: The Resolution was a "safe" resolution because it was within the talking points of the mainstream GOP. Besides the voting block at the Twin Falls Republican Central Committee was a fraction of all the elected committeeman.

Guess Rick Martin was right when he said that the establishment filled a bunch of empty seats with 'ghost candidates' in 2008. Liberal members like Stone were not in attendance for the vote on the resolution.

Another important note is that the Twin Falls Central Committee did not know what to do with the Resolution after it's passage, despite clear language in the resolution explaining this. Apparently the delivering of this strange "resolution" thingy was the main sticking point preventing it from going for a vote immediately after presented in November. The committee passed the Resolution in December with no changes to the wording.

This concern about where and to whom these resolutions goes to is significant and noteworthy because if the Twin Falls Republican leadership were doing their job, then they would have known exactly what to do with the resolution for they would have passed several in the months prior--as that is their responsibility.

Bonner County Republican Group is on fire with resolutions, since having their Central Committee Restored in 2008. Last count was 12: Health Care Freedom, Firearms Freedom, Sound Money Resolutions, Health Conscious Resolutions, Federal Reserve Abolition Resolutions, 10th Amendment, Constitutional Language Amendments affirming our loyalty to the Constitution--not to the Union, etc.

So, the Restoration forces in Twin Falls helped to bring about this Health Care Freedom Resolution which was signed by the Governor today. and showed how the central committee was oblivious to their roll in debating and passing resolutions.

One member's comments at a recent meeting emphasizes this point. A young man came to express concern about a house bill by Steven Hartgen, the news had portrayed as an assault on free and anonymous speech on the Internet.

[Editor's Note: If so, Hartgen would probably consider this blog a "high crime"-despite this tyrannical blip on the screen, we kind of like the guy.]

As the story goes, Ken Edmonds, an establishment kingpin, stood up and addressed the issue by boldly saying "we don't talk about policy here": confirming beliefs that the local Twin Falls Republican Party has turned into the Parade and Picnic Party, taking orders from top-down not debating and forming policy from the ground up.

It's a sad state of affairs in there ladies and gentlemen. Support the Restoration!

  1. >Have you ever seen the movie, “Braveheart” starring Mel Gibson as a Scottish commoner – William Wallace – who becomes disenfranchised (to say the least) with the English occupation of his country? The movie includes a ruthless king and a bunch of weasely Noblemen who take bribes in order to maintain their positions of power…they favored their perceived security over their actual liberty. In reality, the Noblemen’s security was actually in question, as it may have been their head on a stick – literally – were they to disobey the King. In the end, the Wallace character exacts revenge on the Noblemen, is betrayed by another Nobleman with political ambitions, and is eventually disemboweled in public – but he does manage to free his country.<

When looking at the Twin Falls GOP Committee the executive board members are a modern version of a bunch of "weasely Noblemen" in the above post.
